Violent Extremist Organizations (VEOs) pose a significant threat to peace and stability, engaging in deceptive recruitment tactics, spreading harmful ideologies, and perpetrating violent acts. To combat this menace, Northern Recovery Project is launching a community sensitization initiative targeting vulnerable communities in the North East and Savanna Regions of Ghana.
Our mission is to equip these communities with critical pre-information about VEO activities, enabling them to recognize and resist radicalization. By promoting Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) strategies, we aim to foster a culture of peace, tolerance, and resilience within the subregion.
Through this initiative, we seek to: ✦ Enhance community awareness of VEO tactics and ideologies ✦ Empower individuals to make informed choices against radicalization ✦ Foster community-led initiatives to prevent violent extremism ✦ Promote peace, stability, and social cohesion within the sub-region
By working together, we can build stronger, more resilient communities that reject violent extremism and promote a culture of peace and understanding.
At Northern Recovery Project, we believe that everyone deserves equal opportunities and treatment, regardless of their gender. However, gender-based discrimination and disparities persist, hindering the progress of women and girls in Northern Ghana.
To address this, we are committed to community engagement and advocacy efforts that promote: ✦ Equal participation and access to education, employment, healthcare, and economic empowerment ✦ Increased political representation and decision-making power for women ✦ Elimination of discriminatory practices and social norms that perpetuate inequality.
Our goal is to create a society where women and girls have equal opportunities to thrive and reach their full potential. By working together, we can break down barriers and build a more inclusive and equitable future for all.

On Monday, April 22nd, 2024, Northern Recovery Project (NRP) proudly partnered with 195in365, a Grenada-based environmental advocacy organization, to commemorate Earth Day '24 under the theme "Planet Vs Plastics."
In the Kpatorigu community, NRP organized a community cleanup service, where enthusiastic youth from various associations and groups participated. The event also featured the planting of economic trees that serve as natural shock absorbers, protecting buildings from windstorms.
This celebration marked a significant moment, as the youth accepted the challenge to MAKE A CHANGE. By pledging to ensure Zero Plastics in their environment, they demonstrated their commitment to reducing carbon output and mitigating the Climate Crisis.
As we commemorate Earth Day '24, we recognize the urgent need for collective action to protect our planet. The youth of today must arise to save the Earth for future generations. Happy Earth Day! #NRP-Ghana_&_195in365 #EarthDay24 #ClimateCrisis #ZeroPlastics #Sustainability
